As an instructor for a First Day/Inclusive Access course, you will need to add the following Tool Link in Moodle so that students can Opt-Out of the program if they wish, during the Opt-Out period only, and Courseware and eTextbook materials can be accessed by students through this link. (Note: Your LMS may have slight variations in these steps or naming.)
Setup for “Course Materials” Link
- Log in to Moodle with your administrator or teacher credentials.
- Navigate to and select your desired course.
- Click the Turn editing on button at the top right-hand corner of your course page.
- In the section where you wish to place the link, click + Add an activity or resource.
- Select Course Materials from the list of activities and resources, then click Add.
- If you do not see Course Materials on the main list:
- Select External Tool
- Activity Name: Course Materials
- Preconfigured Tool: Course Materials (or what the tool is named)
- Expand the Privacy tab, and make sure that "Accept grades from the tool" is unchecked
- Click Save and return to course
- Select External Tool
- If you do not see Course Materials on the main list:
- The link will now appear in your course.
- Repeat these steps for any additional courses/sections that require the Course Materials link.
